Child sponsorship means donating monthly to a child living in poverty and encouraging them through messages and prayer. Your monthly donation equips a local church to care for a child, introducing them to the good news of the gospel and providing them with essentials like medical checkups and education. At Compassion, we partner with local churches within impoverished communities. These churches know each child personally and understand their unique needs. With your support, the local church can deliver the specific care a child needs to journey out of poverty.

Compassion’s sponsor a child program is different. Through our program, we provide the
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual care children need to thrive, from medical care to
education. This approach empowers us to support a child consistently from childhood through to adulthood as they journey out of poverty. Compassion’s unique sponsorship program is:Christ-Centered: Jesus is at the center of everything we do, so every child in our program hears the Gospel and sees it in action through local church pastors, volunteers and sponsors around the world.
Church-Driven: We empower local churches in impoverished communities to serve children in need. This enables churches to fulfill their role as sources of light and hope, representing Christ and making disciples in their communities.
Child-Focused: We exist to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. As children grow into thriving followers of Jesus, they can transform their families, communities and nations.

Yes. Each child has only one sponsor, which is why your prayers, messages and support mean so much to them. This one-to-one match allows you to show a child they’re valued and loved, which is important to their well-being.

What does child sponsorship cover? The child you sponsor will receive the love and care they need to thrive. While individual support can look a little different depending on each child’s unique needs, every child receives:
1) The hope of the gospel: Each child is connected to a local church, where they hear the gospel and experience Jesus’ love for them.
2) Protection from abuse: Children are surrounded by loving adults trained in child protection who keep them safe and teach them how to advocate for themselves.
3) Care for their health: Children are monitored for malnutrition, have a yearly medical checkup and receive care when they’re hurt or sick.
4) Educational opportunities: Each child receives a quality education, equipping them to reach their dreams and become thriving adults.
5) Support after disaster: When disasters strike, children receive emergency care, including clean water, shelter and counseling.
6) Ongoing love and support: Each child is surrounded by pastors, volunteers and staff who love and care for them
7) They receive ongoing encouragement from you, their sponsor, through messages and prayer. This support reminds them just how loved they truly are.

The Compassion Experience is a free, family-friendly, immersive exhibit housed inside a transformed semi-truck trailer. Visitors walk through recreated scenes from the real lives of two children — Jonathan from the Dominican Republic and Kiwi from the Philippines — using a provided audio device to hear their stories of overcoming poverty and finding hope through faith in Jesus Christ. Each story takes about 15 minutes to complete.
Jonathan's Story: Jonathan grew up with a single mother after being rejected by his father. Filled with pain and struggling with anger and unforgiveness, his story shows how true hope — emotional and spiritual, not just physical — is found in Jesus Christ.
Kiwi's Story: Before Kiwi was born, her parents suffered devastating loss that left them struggling to provide even basic necessities. Her story is one of God's faithful provision through hardship, from the greatest blessings to something as small as an apple.
